What the raven does all day.
Seven things, each done properly. All of them on your Mac.
01 / Capture
Recording and audio
Perchnote records two things: your microphone and, optionally, your system audio, which is how it captures the other people on a call. Both get mixed into a single recording per meeting.
Noise cancellation cleans up your mic. Stereo recording puts you on the left channel and everyone else on the right, which helps speaker separation later. An accuracy pass re-transcribes the full audio after you stop, so the final transcript is cleaner than the live one.
02 / Transcription
Transcription that stays home
Transcription runs locally with Whisper on Metal GPU acceleration, or with Apple Speech on macOS 26 and later. You pick a model in Settings and Perchnote downloads it for you. No internet needed to record and transcribe.
Language is auto-detected, or pin one of 15+ supported languages if the guess is wrong.

03 / AI notes
AI notes (Enhance)
Raw transcripts are useful but messy. Press ⌘E and Enhance turns one into structured notes: a summary, decisions, action items, whatever the template calls for. Templates are editable prompts, so you can tune the output to how you like your notes.
Turn on auto-enhance and the recap is waiting for you the moment a recording ends. Enhancing never touches the raw transcript, so you can always undo.

04 / Ask AI
Chat and Ask AI
Press ⌘J and ask. Ask AI answers questions about your meeting, pulls out details, drafts follow-ups, and reasons over the transcript and notes. It works mid-meeting against the partial transcript, and it tells you when it is working from incomplete information.
What did we decide about pricing?
You agreed to hold the launch price and revisit in October. Sam owns the comparison doc.

05 / Speakers
Speaker identification
After a recording finishes, Perchnote figures out who spoke when, entirely on-device. Rename Speaker 1 to a real name once and Perchnote remembers the voice for future meetings.

Speaker 2 → Samvoice remembered

06 / Calendar
Calendar sync
Connect Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, or any ICS feed and Perchnote sees your upcoming meetings, recognizes the meeting links (Meet, Zoom, Teams, Webex), and ties recordings to the right event. Read-only, always. Perchnote never modifies your calendar.

07 / Recall
Organization and search
Folders, tags, pins, and full-text search keep the archive useful. Turn on semantic recall and search works by meaning, not just keywords, backed by on-device embeddings through Apple or Ollama.
